SWIFT BIC Codes
Ever needed to transfer money to a bank account and the sending bank wants to know the SWIFT code, and you haven't got a clue? Banks are often not very helpful. Fortunately Wikipedia has a List of SWIFT codes of many major banks throughout the world.Once you have the SWIFT code for the receiving bank (take out the spaces in the Wikipedia codes) you can check it at the BIC publication portal, and obtain (hopefully) a list of all BIC codes for that bank, including (hopefully) the one for the branch of the bank with the account you want to send the money to.
The BIC publication portal also lets you give the name of a bank and it will (if it knows the bank) return a list of SWIFT BIC codes for it.
